Fiji Islands - 9 day Cycle Tour

Island hopping by bike... in tropical time!

Cycle, Snorkel, Swim and spend time with the most openly friendly people on earth. Come and explore the real Fiji with us!

Labasa to Labasa
9 Days
Moderately Challenging and Adventurous!

Fiji is defined by the vast South Pacific Ocean which for a long time has provided both isolation and protection.  Made up of 332 volcanic islands, Fiji is most famous as a tropical resort holiday destination.  But beyond the upmarket resorts is a land of big hearted, laid back and genuinely welcoming people.
Picture rain-forested mountains, subsistence villages and quiet roads winding around a coastline of swaying coconut palms and clear blue ocean.  This is the Fiji we are heading for!  Starting in Vanua Levu we cycle across the island and on to the ‘garden island’ of Taveuni’. Add in an overnight village stay, reef snorkelling, plunging into crystal clear waterfall pools and pina coladas and you have the perfect mix for for a real tropical adventure.

Some people choose to extend their adventure by adding on the 2 day, overnight night Batilamu Trek in Viti Levu (see below), or stay on and relax into Fiji island time...

First of many...

Having just returned from Fiji with my 2 teenagers, I have had time to reflect on the awesome experience we all had. I wanted my kids to experience a different holiday away from screens and other mod cons. The trip was extremely well organised, safe, professional and with great integrity, whilst maintaining a friendly and easy going atmosphere. Great thought was put into each day in terms of accommodation, cycling, meals and other activities. We had the privilege of experiencing a more authentic Fiji, seeing less touristy areas and staying in a small village, amongst other things. The Escape Adventures crew were fantastic - friendly, funny and, most of all, kind, patient and supportive, particularly to my teenage daughter who was very anxious and a somewhat reluctant participant! We were also fortunate to meet another great family who we hope to maintain contact with. Thank you so much Leigh, Jason and Paul for a fabulous 9 days. I expect that I'll be a regular...

Andy Day. Fiji cycle tour"What an awesome adventure"

"What an awesome adventure! We had the best time ever on our family tour. It wasn't the usual beach holiday many people go on, but we can't think of a better way to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays!

The cycling took us through diverse landscapes with lush green forests, beautiful hills and stunning beaches along the way. The roads we travelled were nice and quiet and allowed us to relax and enjoy the scenery. We lost count of the number of friendly waves and "Bula" calls from the people along the way. And if that wasn't enough, there was the village stays and the snorkeling which the kids loved, and allowed us to meet so many Fijians along the way.

John, Mandy and Baz – you guys are legends. Thoroughly professional guides that guaranteed us a fun and safe holiday, and now friends too. We have the most amazing memories from our trip. It was an incredible experience for the whole family - we won't say once in a lifetime though because there is a lot more of the world to see, and what better way than on a bike with Escape Adventures! Vinaka Escape Adventures and Fiji!!"

Karen Savage on tour in Fiji"Travel at its best! Such a happy time"

"I have just returned from my sixth tour with Escape Adventures and Fiji did not disappoint! Many of us travel to Fiji for a week of relaxation within the confines of a resort. Escape Adventures gives you a very different Fiji. The less populated Islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni  are stunning; the people are truly special and a common language helps you to feel at ease. What did I enjoy most? Was it the eye-popping snorkelling on a world famous reef? Was it the physical beauty of these Islands and their villages? Was it the thrill of the downhills on volcanic terrain? was the opportunity to mingle with locals; to experience their unique culture and their very warm hospitality. Our home-stay with the people in an isolated village in Vanua Levu was the highlight for me. Travel at its best! Such a happy time."

Lynn Sim Fiji Cycle tour 2017"We feel as though we have seen the real Fiji"

"We thoroughly enjoyed it. We feel as though we have seen the real Fiji, not just from a tourist point of view.  The experiences we will remember – the beautiful, friendly Fijian people, our cycling companions and leaders, the Village and Lodge stays (out of our comfort zone), even the hotels which were very different in standard to what we have come to expect from a hotel provided their own unique experience and were very much part of  whole “Fiji Experience”.

"The Real Fiji"

“Bula” – that’s hello in Fijian and if you are planning on doing this trip then it’s one word that you will hear a lot of. The Fijian people are some of the friendliest in the world; this coupled with great scenery, some spectacular snorkeling and experiencing the “real Fiji” and makes this trip really worthwhile. This cycling tour is a great chance to see this country not through the usual tourist destination image but through engagement with the locals, understanding their culture, how they live their lives resulting in us feeling extremely privileged to be a part of it. While some of the cycling was a bit challenging we were nearly always rewarded with a swim in either extraordinary clear fresh water falls, amazing beaches or snorkeling in the most exquisitely coloured coral dive spots. The pace of this trip is a little slower than other Escape Adventure trips but once you are in Fiji you are on Fijian time!"
