Some personal records biking through the open savannah country into the Rift Valley yesterday. Sue, Mark, Nic, Ed, Bill, Jan, Jamie & Bill biked 94km to reach Mto Wa Mbu where we dinned out local style in the street side restaurant. Today is a rest day for the legs as we head into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Baz, Gemma & Joseph.

From Tanzania and cycling on to Kenya

The team had an awesome safari into Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania yesterday. Odey got a bit closer to a baboon than she intended; elephants and lions taking shade from the sun from a safari vehicle and a rare black rhino were highlights of the day. Paul helped the local safari driver change a tyre and they spotted giraffes on the way to the park. Today we will cross the border into Kenya and head across maasai country for the more rustic part of our journey... (Sorry we have not been able to post photos as have not been able to get them from the camera. We'll post a gallery when back in Nairobi).

School visits and big descents in Tanzania

We had a superb time visiting Mkuzi School in the mountains and the kids got Jill and Odette shaking their booties! A great time had by all. On descending from the Usambara Mountains the other day - Andrew said "That's the best day's riding I've ever had" ... we were so pleased to share it with you Andrew!! We are now in Arusha City and on our way to the Ngorongoro Crater. Baz, Gemma & Joseph
