View our Video: Introducing Escape Adventures
Our Kenya & Tanzania crew officially kicked off our busy season of cycle touring on Saturday with roast goat and ugali for dinner in Nairobi. Now just a few days and a few more kilometres later it's a cuppa tea overlooking the wide open spaces of Amboseli National Park. In between we've biked through herds of giraffe, camped with hyrax and sat round the campfire under the shadow of the stunning Mt Kilimanjaro....
All systems are go in Kenya... Here are Tom, Maddy, Joseph and John in the final stages of prepping for this years Kenya & Tanzania cycle tour season... On Saturday they begin the first of four tours.
We are super excited to welcome Maddy Bellcroft and Tom Ives to the Escape Team!!
You can find a handful of photos taken on our last Kenya & Tanzania Cycle Tour August -September 2013 on our Facebook page here. Please enjoy them!
Baz and Gemma arrived back at Escape Adventures base in NZ on Friday. We got to have a night with them here in Golden Bay (and they kept us up way past John's bedtime), before they drove off towards Haast in their little black bubble-car - Gemma to chase baby kiwi in the bush and Baz to reenergize for his summer's guiding in NZ.
We've just had a fantastic last trip of the 2013 season in Kenya and Tanzania with a great group of bikers and new mates!! I can't enthuse enough how much we enjoyed experiencing so much over the last couple of weeks with Jan, Bill, Mark, Sue, Jamie, Bill, Nic & Ed. Gem and I are going to miss East Africa over the next nine months; roll on 2014!! We want to thank all the bikers who we had such good fun riding through the savannah, scrubland, animals and tracks the last three months; also Joseph for everything he does to make these cycle trips work like magic; and especially Mandy and John - you guys rock for setting up such an incredible unique bike tour, been an awesome experience we'll never forget!!! Cheers for all your support and work to make this happen (-:
Our own private and very social craft market; close encounters with giraffe, zebra and not too close with elephant; cycling 'on the surface of the moon'; and invites and genuine insights into Maasai homes and lives... all in a today's biking in Kenya! Now we just have to get Jan to stay in her bike, Ed to stop spooking animals with his exuberant enthusiasm, and Nic, Mark, Sue, Bill, Jamie and Bill to keep at least three camera batteries charged a day!! An incredible final trip of the season so far!!
